Animated Outlines

Re: Animated Outlines
Try this tutorial:
http://www.photodex.com/sharing/viewsho ... alb=135843
Look at "Alpha Masks 2" ... it shows how to do make an animated border.
What do you mean "...a line go across a slide" ?
One way to create a line is to add a layer. Depending on what kind of line, you can unlock the xy zooms and change one of them to 1 for both start and stop. Then, change the location for the end keyframe such that it's different than the beginning kf. So, to translate location from right to left, you'd set the pan for the 1st kf to 100, 0 and the pan for the last kf to -100, 0 (for instance). There ya go!

Re: New most-wanted thread
Smiley, before you do anything else, I'd suggest posting questions like this in the "General" section of the forum. Click on "General" and then click the button on the top left that says "New Topic." I believe that may be what you were asking how to do.

This may have been talked about already, but wouldn't
it be great to also be able to add a "video" into a caption.
I just saw a commercial with this and it was really cool.
Just a thought.

HunnyB, wasn't that what was discussed in the following thread? Not sure if that is what you mean.

Linda, that was cool, but not exactly what I saw on tv.
This was an outlined font with a video playing in the type, like kids playing.
Was really cool.

Chrissy, I haven't even begun to dig into everything that's here, but I'm willing to bet that if it were all put together in a logical manner, we could call it the ProShow Bible.

Re: New most-wanted thread
Well, I read page 1,2, and 5 of this thread and I didn't see this mentioned. My luck it would have been on page 3 or 4....
I just finished a show that had one slide with 27 layers. I would have loved to just type times into keyframes boxes, rather then slide those little tabs to approximate times. It was also slow as anything, despite just having installed 3 GB's of additional RAM. Very frustrating!!!
Also, when previewing the audio from 'edit tracks', does anyone else have a problem with 'stuttering'? I end up closing the 'edit track' window and listening in the sound option window. I would like this to work better.
So,
1. being able to type in begin and ending times in keyframes
2. smoother audio preview
3. once you change the time in audio tracks, be able to see right away where the track will begin and end in the timeline. (Instead of having to close the sound option window)

Re: New most-wanted thread
Rosemary, right-click on the triangular key frame marker. You'll have the option of typing in the time. Some of the best stuff in software is found in the right-click menus.
The more layers you have in a slide, the slower things go. Whenever possible, separate out the layers into successive slides to speed things up.
Speed isn't just a function of how much RAM you have. There's also the all-important video card that should have its own dedicated memory. Also, what else is the computer up to while you think it's sitting there quietly? Windows does a lot of fiddling around when no one's looking.
I haven't experienced audio stuttering, so I can't speak to that.

Chrissy, just wait. We're beginning to brew up an idea where all of us at the forum put together a tips-and-tricks book as a group effort. Pretty much all the information we need sits right here in this forum.
