Locking Layers

Postby sweet_pea » Sun Dec 12, 2010 7:31 pm

I would love to be able to lock layers together on a slide. Please Photodex hear my cry (and I am sure many others).

This is my dirty little work around. Make a duplicate of the layer you want to lock if you need it for a reference for the layer you are working on. uncheck the original. Now if you accidently move the base layer you won't have to worry about the original settings being changed. Of course, it is not perfect because if you do not realize you have moved the copy, you present layer is still off, but that would have happened anyway. When happy with this layer, delete the duplicate and check your original and all should line up.

Vivian, that's definitely a good trick. I think, though, that by "locking layers," what's being referred to is the ability to move all the layers together as if they were one. Thus, if you want everything to go to the left a smidge, you don't have to go into every last blessed layer to change its pan settings. Just lock the layers, grab them, and shove them en masse. Boy, would that ever save a lot of time!
