Lens options

Postby Sandy's » Wed Sep 17, 2008 8:07 am

I have a sony a100. My question is what are some good lens to have with it. I would like a few good all around lenses. One for wide angle and zoom. What are some good focal length? I take alot of closeups (flowers etc.)
Family candid shots and I would like to be able to take of sport (family members) and be able to zoom in and then some on vacation a zoom lens. I don't sound like I want much do I.
Thanks Sandy

Sandy,

I use a 28-135 for a lot of my shots. It covers a pretty broad range of subjects. For really close ups I use a 100 macro. Hope this gives you a starting point.

Hello neighbor,

I shoot flowers, plants and small insects with the macro. Nothing to exciting, but you walk away with some pretty pics. The 28-135 I shoot almost anything that comes across my lens. The links below nature's paint, I used the 100 macro for a lot of the pics, the 28-135 for most of the others. The wedding show was shot totally with the 28-135.
Each show about 5-7 min.
