Our winters aren't typically as cold as yours, but we will get snow 3 or 4 times
a year typically and sometimes get a cold snap (like last year) that drops down
to 15 or 20 degrees at night and stays below freezing during the day. These
guys eat nectar, small insects etc according to the information I have found.
And they may be small, but they are feisty !! If you are late getting the feeder
out in the morning (first light) they are about 2 feet from your face glaring
at you with their beady little eyes. I don't know what else they find, but they
do seem to manage to hang around all winter. They don't hesitate to hover
just in front of the little birds in the regular suet feeder and try to run them
off also. I think we have two pair around right now. Fun to watch :D

You can't have too many gadgets or too much disk space !!

Mikey, when you use a card reader, do you import them right into Adobe? Or another program?

XaiLo, So the higher the number, the faster the speed-right? This is useful for me because I take a lot of kids and sports, but the HP user I just bought a camera for (my mother in law) is a point and shoot from across her dark living room. (ugh) Her pictures are usually of us, eating, just as we open our mouth to stuff it full of turkey etc.. I think any speed isnt really going to make a difference there. ;)

Barbara, Thanks, I have a couple of Sandisk now and I like them, but since I have never used anything else, I had nothing to compare them too.

Unless it has a movie mode it should be a non-issue.

Hmmm - considering what she shoots, you might want to search for the
slowest card you can find so she can't get as many of you eating :D

Yes, the movie mode if it exists in that camera can be an issue and the
docs should say what the minium speed card is in that case (talk about
a way to fill a card quickly )

Nice pics. I think the hummingbirds birds beak is frozen to the feeder in the second pic. What a difference the flash makes. Ok I went memory card shopping and ended up with a Lexar 1GB 60x. I just noticed it comes with "Lexar Backup n Sync", "Corel Snapfire Plus SE" and "Image Rescue 3" software. No wonder the package is so big for a dinky little card! Just think, when my mother in law gets this editing program, she can zoom in on our open mouths. She'll be so happy.
