Last roll of Kodachrome processed ...

Postby gpsmikey » Wed Dec 29, 2010 10:32 pm

Interesting article I came across. Kodachrome has been a favorite of photographers for many many years - here is the story of the last roll produced and it's journey to get exposed and processed.

Kodachrome
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, Oh yeah
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away

Paul Simon 1973

I shot hundreds of rolls of K64 -- no exposure error tolerance, no instant look at what you'd shot, expensive and yet, the resolution and color were (and are) phenomenal.

Film will be around for awhile just as vinyl is still around but it's gone as a mass market item. Most days I don't miss it much.
