Do you need photo restoration? For free?

Postby nannybear » Fri Apr 30, 2010 2:13 pm

Just got the email that says my CS5 is ready to download....sooooo I am offering free photo restoration to the first five people that send me a damaged pic. Need to practice with the new tools, so that is why I will do it for free. My only ask is that I can use the before/after photos on my website as examples. No names will be used just the photos. Will post here when I have 5, will do a quick show of the results as well. Have a great weekend, I can't wiat for the workday to be done so I can go play!! Cheers Jan

PM me and I will send you the email address to send it to....

I've just had a half hour with it, it is now 11.30pm, think I will be up all night playing :P

Love to know, briefly, your technique for getting rid of the blue ball point pen 8) that was excellent.

That was prior to CS5 and I am going to tackle that one again but not sure if I have the original as one of my externals crashed. I do believe you were one of the ones I asked for advice on that one.....it was labor intensive and I am curious to see how 5 would handle it!!! So glad you are in my world dude! hugs Jan

Oh yeah... I think I "took" the blue out and then started working on it....let you know what happens if I get the orig back and work on it.....

Fancy a challenge? Here, we have a man with no eyes... given to me by a close friend. It is her grandfather. She asked me to restore it, but when it came to his face, things were pretty tricky

I do some restoration, but hesitate to do eyes. It's so easy to mess up the whole thing.
I also don't believe that in the case of very old pictures we want to make them look like they were taken yesterday. There's a charm to the old feeling for me.

A story that always makes me smile is of a lady who asked "can you remeove the tree in front of Uncle Fred? We don't know what he looked like"

Maybe even CS5 'content-aware' would have trouble with that

Since they didn't know what Uncle Fred looked like, I would have gotten a picture of MY Uncle Fred, photoshopped a hole in the tree and charged an extra $20

Gotta think outside the box once in a while
