Hay

In the next couple of days I am planning to buy a new camera and I have made my choice of buyng the Nikon D5000.

I would like to hear your experiences with this camera

I bet it is a good one. No experience here though.
My hubby just got me a Canon EOS 500D Rebel T1i. So far I am in love. :D

Personally I'm hooked on cameras with live preview and swiveling LCD-displays. This camera has both. The criticism that is heard often is that the auto focus is very slow in live view mode. And that's true. On the other hand, when the focus is finally arrived at, it seems to be accurate. Live view mode is nothing for action photographers, the D90 would be better suited. But being able to shoot from the hip, from ground level and over obstacles far outweighs the disadvantages for me!
