I know you said you're still on "auto" but the pic makes it kind of look like the camera is taking pictures automatically too since there is no finger on the shutter button.

Actually, just have someone take it while you're holding it (not up to your face). That way, the camera will not look like your nose.

I know, who am I to say considering mine looks very similar. I've been working on getting a regular picture, new avitar of me uploaded but haven't done that yet either!

HunnyB, with your lens cap still on the front of your lens, I do not think that you completely followed my directions on using that new camera of yours....:)

I think Debbie, Al, and HunnyB are starting a trend.

I remember my first nice camera .I thought , no matter what I touched , I would screw something up . Hunny , the key with a new camera is to go slowwww and make sure that you learn as you go . Get a notebook and take notes also . I bought a Nikon D-300 about a year ago , and am slowly learning how to use it .

No, it doesn't look dumb... I do it all the time...looking into a camera with the lens cap on. But I cannot refrain from saying that you look great! In time we will all master our equipment and be off to exciting new photographic ventures!

Mikey --- very funny. :D

You can tell that I am not a professional photographer. I was just trying to pick out the
best picture of myself :D ---
I did not even think about the lens COVER, or where my finger was.....

The avatar is staying for now. It has been a wild and crazy week.

Wolf, thanks for the compliment. I absolutely hate getting my pictures taken.
I have to take 30 just to get one that I halfway like.
