AVCHD videos and Windows 10

Postby Rosemary » Wed Jan 31, 2018 10:49 am

Hi,
Has anyone a solution to downloading AVCHD videos in Windows 10? Win. 10 does not recognize these files so they are languishing in my SD card.

Thanks for any help,

Rosemary

Hi Rosemary

This link https://www.mediaplayercodecpack.com/ is for a codec pack which might help. The other alternative is a different media player the free VLC media player is good.

Hi Rosemary

Glad I could help. There are also programs available that will convert the AVCHD files to Mpeg4 etc. If you google it you will possibly find some free conversion programs.

I shall do some Googling but your program works just fine.
I am finding that some programs do not like Windows 10, particularly photo sharing. One has to reset many settings but I get there in the end. I suppose it is the price we pay for progress.

Thanks once again,

Rosemary
