Needless to say, using the Chroma Key on the image layer to remove the black is recommended if you want a background color other than black. Take a peek at the updated version for a nice example (link is posted in my previous post right before this one).
If the method I described doesn't provide you with satisfactory results, you can try the alternative method described by the other forum member.
