Include a Template into a show

Postby marma0525 » Fri Jul 31, 2009 8:51 am

Is there a trick to insert Templates into an existing ProShow Producer show. Whenever I tried it the system is telling me I need to start a new show, but all I want is to add a template and than use only a few slides of that template in my show, deleting the unused ones. My search of this topic on this board didn't generate an information but I think I read about this topic a while ago.
Thanks in advance for your suggestion / advise.

Think of a template as "a special show"......

What you want to do is "combine two shows into one".......

A PSP Project allows you to combine two or more shows........

So:
First open a new Project
Add your show to the project
Then go to slides/open a template
Navigate to your templates
Select the template you want to add to your show

You now have THREE shows open: (Three Tabs)
The original Project (No Name) Show #1
Your Main Show Show #2
The Template show Show #3

Now it's just a matter of "Copying and Pasting" the groups of slides from shows 2 and 3 into Show Number One
Now show number one has both your original show plus the template show

Close Shows 2 & 3 (Remove from the Project)

Rename the Project
Save the Project............

Hope this gets you there.

Hi Texan,
thanks for your detailed instructions. Sounds relative easy, but without getting the instructions from an expert sometimes hard to figure out. Every day I learn more from you and all the other great contributors to this site.
Thanks again and have a great weekend.
