"Quick Face Lifts!" - Selective blur w/adjustment layer
Here is how to apply selective blur on your images as demonstrated in the demo show.
Your settings may vary depending on the image you choose to use for the effect and how much blur you want to apply.
So that you get to view the HD full screen version, click once on the show FIRST in the blog, then go to FULL SCREEN by clicking on the YouTube button in the lower right corner. Else, you may get the low res version full screen instead.

Debbie
I had a little trouble picking it off. Was it selective to only part of the image and did it vary through time.
Neat idea posting it on your blog
cheers

Re: "Quick Face Lifts!" - Selective blur w/adjustment layer
Hi Neil,
Yes, the blur is only to selective areas of the image and it varied through the slide time. The demo shows the images first without the effect and then with the effect about 3 seconds into the slides. It helps to view it full screen and pay attention to the face and eye areas.
The "adjustment layer" may require fiddling if you want it to only apply to certain areas depending on the image. If you read the manual it explains the adjustment layer concept. By the use of the chroma keying, you can reduce the areas of blur because it keys out the parts you don't want to blur.
My settings are only suggestions. You'll have to play with it on your own images to see how it affects them since they will be completely different in exposure, areas of light and dark, contrast etc.
I included Photodex's background image so you could see how changing the setting with that image will affect it. I used a contrast change in that image but it's not necessary. That was just my taste in this instance.
I like to try and find ways to do it all in Producer to keep from having to access the additional photo editing program in the process.
