Scrolling text
PSG pan up requires the whole text to disappear off the screen before the next image is shown. This can be frustrating to viewers able to keep up with the scroll speed.
The following is one way to overome this. It gives white text on a black background, but adjustments for other colour schemes are obvious. Steps 1 to 4 need to be done only once as they produce a template for further captions.
1. In PSG do sample caption of more than one line, with font and side margins of your choice.
2. Use image editor to reproduce same relationship between caption, font and side margins as in PSG. Adjust image width to achieve this.
3. Delete the text.
4. Save the image as a template.
5. Insert your own text.
6. Invert the text colours and save.
7. Import text image into PSG.
8. Select Layers and then set Scaling to either Fill safe zone or Fill frame.
9. Sharpen 100%.
10. Set Pan Motion to Linear.
11. Set Start and End positions of text image.
12. Copy End to Next Slide.
13. Set Transition to “Cut” with time “0”.
14. Adjust Duratiions of both slides.
