Good vs. Bad Layouts

Postby VidQueen » Wed Jan 24, 2007 7:23 pm

I just posted a very brief (2 slides) example of a good a bad layout for multiple photos. The theory behind it comes from basic Graphic Design teachings: Your layouts should allow the viewer to accept it as a whole before breaking it down into it's pieces. This principle definately applies to slide shows!

You can view it here:

Now let's see some really great layouts!!!

Excellent example! More please!

I confess that when the first one came up I thought it was okay but when the second comes up it's instantly the more pleasing. Most of what little I know about the composition/layout side of things I learned in some photography classes a long time ago. Some of it stuck and some didn't. Over the years I've kinda gotten a feel for what works and what doesn't but its all just trial-and-mostly-error.

I agree... More please!
:)
That was great, it all makes sense when we can view the "right" from "wrong". This comes at a perfect time while I am learning the layers with 3.0.

Thanks, I'll be watching for more "teachings"!!!!

Jennifer,
Great tutorial. I also watched your one on keyframes. Is adding multiple keyframes only available in Producer?

Good from Bad

Postby Penny47 » Sat Jan 26, 2008 9:28 am

Jennifer,

Many thanks for that. I think I have been doing it wrong and can not correct it. Anymore good from bad layouts would be great.

Thanks

Penny

Going well for me Bob, hope all is good for you this year.

Yes it would be good to hear from Jennifer with another excellent tutorial. I believe she did say that she was very busy and could be missing for a while.

I think her only post this year is in the 'poll', but that shows she is still looking in :D
