HighLighterPro Demo

Postby Dave Fitzpatrick » Sat Aug 02, 2008 10:05 am

A lot of you who know I've been working on this have emailed me as to when it would be available. Well, the time has come. I'll post this one show to demonstrate a few examples of what the program can do to enhance a show. Of course, in your real shows, you wouldn't use anywhere near the number of effects I'm showing here, but rather use them sparingly for special slides.

Here is a link to the demo show on the Photodex sharing site. Since it contains so many AVIs for the continuous stream of effects from HighLighterPro, give it a few minutes to buffer. It's 165MB and runs a little over 7 minutes.

http://www.photodex.com/sharing/viewsho ... 1915&alb=0

If you don't want to wait it out to see the 640 X 480 hi res version, here is a link to a 480 X 360 flash version. The resolution in flash is only okay. HighLighterPro does, however, build its AVI effects to uncompressed format so when render to a DVD the resolution is very crisp with virtually no compression artifacts or resolution loss.

http://www.visisketchpro.com/HLP/HLPDem ... 0X360.html

HighLighterPro builds effects which can be used in both PSG and Producer although Producer, because of its layer masking feature, enables a greater flexibility and reuseability of the effects you build.

I hope you enjoy it,

Dave

Hello Dave!

I bought both the Highlighter Pro and VisiSketch Pro today! Love them both and know they will help make my shows great! Thanks for your hard work! Oh...by the way - thanks for the Marquee Crawl - downloaded that too!

Thanks!

Dave,
Been looking forward to getting my hands on Highlighter Pro! One quick question, you mentioned on the demo show that you could make your own Glyphs and use them in a show. After loading the program, I'm wondering how you in fact would insert your own text/images to use as a glyph?

Regards,
Matthew

Matthew, yeah that's something I need to make more clear in the help files. If you look at the help section on making glyphs, the 5th slide in the screen capture tute will tell you that once you make your glyph all you need to do is to drop it into the glyph folder under your program folder. Also, you will have to restart the program so that the new glyph will be included in the glyph combo box. The path would look something like:

C:\Programs Files\HighLighterPro\Glyphs

I'll expand upon this in the help files for the next release - which should be real soon, by the way.

Oooooo, I'm having too much fun with this!
I see that I will have to purchase HLP, for sure.

I love VisiSketch Pro, too, but I never got around to playing with the trial enough to get the real hang of it. I'll have to revisit that, as well.

I notice that I have the same problem with some of the button text and screen text on HLP that I had with the trial version of VisiSketch, in that some of the beginning and/or ending letters are cut off. For instance, almost all of the words which are in parenthesis in the column on the right are chopped off on their right-hand sides. And I can only see "Test with Realtime De" and "Build AVI Backw" Anyone else?

Thank you, Dave. This is very neato!

Sara,

Do you have the MS Sans Serif font on your machine? To find out, go to C:\Windows\Fonts. There you should find a ton of different fonts. Sort them alphabetically if they are not already and look for MS Sans Serif. If you don't have it, Windows will pick the next closest thing, and it may spill over in some of the HLP fields. I used MS Sans Serif since all machines I am familiar with have it installed.

Hi Dave:

Thanks for your quick response.
My Fonts directory says I have MS Sans Serif 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, 24 (8514a res) as SSERIFF.FON, 88K, verson 4.10.1684
???
I'm using an HP w2207 monitor -- (I mention that because I believe you said that perhaps MS San Serif may act differently on wide aspect monitors?)

Thanks for your help!

Yeah, it might. It's one of the old VGA fonts. I'm thinking about switching to Arial. But lately, all I've been worrying about is getting the program to work :-) Other than the text size thing, is everything else going okay, i.e. glyphs dancing around the way you'd expect, AVIs building okay, that sort of thing.

Dave -

FYI, I have a HP f2105 wide screen monitor running 1680x1050 and I don't have any problem with the font display or anything being cut off in the HLP screens. Evidently it's not a global wide-screen problem! Just thought I'd pass on the info. :)

Dave

Other than the text size, everything thing seems a-okay. Glyphs are dancing around all shimmery and wonderful -- and I suppose I can figure out what the missing text is from going to the help file :)

I'm at 1680x1050, too, so-o-o it must just be something weird on my end. I haven't come across it with any other programs, except on my trial of VisiSketchPro,though, so I'm stumped.

Thanks again for your help.

Sara (and Dave)...

I have the full version of both programs (HLP & VisiSketch Pro) and I have use VSP a lot! My widescreen monitor doesn't display incorrectly on VisiSketch Pro either. Strange! Maybe a corrupt font?

Hi Everyone,

I am so glad I found this group. I am learning so much from you all - I almost feel like I am going Hyper speed intake mode. I had been wondering how folks got those highlight effects in their shows. I am going to purchase those add in's tonight. BUT what is the Marquee Crawl??? How do I get it and what does it do?????

Information appreciated.

Hi Cherie
This is Dave's previous post about his great Marquee Crawl effect. This is the first time I have put a link in a post so I hope it works.

I just wanted anyone who is interested to know that the necessary files
to build the AVI crawling lights and the Producer show can be
downloaded from my web site:

http://www.visisketchpro.com

The link to the ProShow "goodies" is at the bottom of the page.

There is also a zipped container of files needed for the Photo Album I
made about a year ago. This is what is does:
