Looking for Sound Editor
I can't figure out why Audacity won't load on my computer, and I couldn't find any program support or forums on Audacity so my only other alternative is to look for another program. Does anyone know of a good free sound editor other than Audacity?

As you can see Audacity is the stand out...
I would continue to try to run on your system...

Did you download Audacity v.1.2.6 which is the stable version? There is also a beta version 1.3.4. I would stick with the stable version. Here's the Audacity Forum link. Maybe you can find some help there. As Wes said I think Audacity is worth the effort to troubleshoot.
