SmartSound's Software

Postby Oldguy » Tue Mar 20, 2012 11:28 am

Has Anyone used SmartSound's Software to
customize music purchased from them?
If so how satisfied are you with the results?
It really sounds great, make the track different
lengths etc. But, some of these things turn
out to be different than expected.

Thanks for any comments
Forrest

I have the free version of the software and have bought some of the music. I like it and have used a lot of what I've purchased. They have sales every once in a while, maybe twice a year so.

Forrest, to answer your question:

I've posted my comment some time ago in this discussion - ("Astra "- second comment ):
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=19624

(As for my experience: I've purchased many SmartSound's albums & have "Scoring Edition" of SonicFire Software - & using both all the time.)
To add to it - yes, it is great to use, but like anything else, it has some learning curve.
But - in long run - the benefits of freedom to have your own: length, melodies, sounds,
and ease of finding the RIGHT melody - overweights - (by my opinion) - hurdles of harder beginings.

Forrest,

Music has been probably my most frustrating part of building shows. I own 24 of the SmartSound full albums and have been pleased with most of them. I do like the fact that you can easily make the tracks the lengths you need for a project and they do give a very nice ending. However, like most of the royalty-free music out there that I can even begin to afford, they still aren't the popular tunes that everyone knows, loves, and wants in a show . . . in most cases, anyway. For anyone wanting vocals, they are beginning to have a few albums but I haven't found many vocal tracks that really fit the types of shows that I have been creating. The free software that is used with the tracks organizes the music very well and is extremely user-friendly. As Debbie mentioned, they do occasionally have some good sales which is a good time to grab a couple of albums.

Thanks everyone!! It is good to hear other's
experience/opinions. the right music is very
important in making a good slideshow. For
me that is the hardest part. If other's have
supplied the Pictures, your locked in, all I
can do is try to present them in the best manner.
That leaves music..... and here we go again.
Thanks everyone.
