LED Style marquis (ticker-tape)

Postby PhotoMill » Thu Feb 18, 2010 9:15 am

Hi.. I am sure there is an add-on somewhere out there but would anyone know where I can get a ticker-tape type of simulated LED marquis. Mainly to run across the top of a screen during a presentation.

Tks...

Steve

I don't know a third party application, but I guess it could be done in PSP.

How about a mask with columns of small 'holes' and a text jpg panning behind the mask? Only drawback is the time to make the mask in a photoeditor :D

Steve - Don't understand fully what it is you are looking for, but if it is a marqee like on an old movie theater where you can change the text that comes up in lights on the board, there is such an animal on this forum. I thought it would be under member created files and didn't see it there. I thought I could find it in a search, and couldn't.

Dave Fitzpatrick with MediaDigitronics (visisketch, Highlighter Pro, and Captions Alive Pro) provides an easy application with changeable text, that resulted in an avi you can add to PSP.

You could try to PM Dave, and see if he still has the file.

Steve,

Try this link and go to Goodies - ProShow Stuff. It's free from Dave Fitzpatrick's website. Might look at all the other programs while you are there, some really nice stuff...

To further the effect, you could use and LED styled font. There are several at dafont.com

Hi,

Here's a link to the page on Dave Fitzpatrick's site with the marquee effect that Sherry was referring to:

Thanks everyone for the tips and links. The marquis on the theater is just what I was looking for only without the theater of course. Mainly want that same effect to run across the very top of the main show pretty well all throughout the loop that I am creating for the local Humane Society. Thanks again !! Much appreciated all...
