Sharing Files

Postby u7mg0 » Sun Feb 15, 2009 1:10 pm

does anyone have a way to share a show with others without making them download the viewer? Many people are leary or just dont want to download unknown apps. I tried uploading to Youtube, but a they reject a show over 10 minutes (although ive seen ones for 15 min). I can send an .exe file, but they have to download the whole file before viewing which can take a while.

how about my own website and upload a show? ive never done that, but may be an option. is there any place that offers free small websites?

To u7mg0:
This may help you out, you need to create a flash show, click on the Create Output Button,
at the top of the page and select the Flash command. This little operation will create a swf file
(Flash File) and I suggest you use the MPEG4 format, under the Options Tab, Video Options, Video Format.
Uncheck all the Web Page Options, since I will give you a better html code to use,it is pasted below, just
copy and paste into either a blank html page or in your own html where ever.
Also I created a short tutorial at my web site that walks you thru all the steps
at http://www.flixmovies.com/tuts/hdweb/hdweb.html.
Remember you only need to change the name of the swf file in 2 places in the html code, Hint look for blah.swf..
Also to test, copy the 3 files into the same folder, they are HTML, SWF, MP4 files. Then open IE, select the
File, Open, Browse, To folder select the HTML file and watch your show, F11 to view in full screen. If everything
looks according to your design, then upload to your web site.

Use This HTML CODE:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<html>
<head>
<meta>
<meta>
<title></title>
</head>
<body bgcolor="black" body scroll="no" marginwidth=0 marginheight=0 topmargin=0 leftmargin=0 bottommargin=0 rightmargin=0>
<object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0"
width="100%" height="100%" id="test" align="center">
<param name="movie" value="blah.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />

<param name="bgColor" value="#FFFFFF" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<embed src="blah2.swf"
width="100%" height="100%"
quality="high"

bgColor="#FFFFFF"
wmode="transparent"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />
</object>
</body>
</html>
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a show that took 5 min to build and 10 min to upload to my web site as a example:
http://www.flixmovies.com/webtest/tnrcrkwd0.html
As for free web sites just Google there are a few hundred out there, I use Doteasy, simple unlimited
account, located at http://www.doteasy.com, its not free, but inexpensive.
Hope this helps, Flixx.........

Try motionbox.com. They have 750MB of space free of charge and unlimited for $29.95 per year.

Hi miami...(im in Boca)

thx for the info. while Flixx was so generous in his explanation, im afraid i have no experience in html and wouldn't know how to get started. i guess at this point is either Youtube or make them download the presenter.

motionbox looks promising. out of the following file types, which would be best to save a show in?

avi, .mov, .dv, .mpg, .mp4, .wmv, .asf, .vob, .flv, .mts, .m2t, .m4v,

under create output in PSP, which option could you use to select that file type?

thx
