Scanning photos for slide shows
The worst part of doing a slideshow for me is scanning piles of photos. Is anyone aware of a scanner that you can load a stack of photos into and it will automatically scan it? Someone at the conference in Austin mentioned that Kodak has one that retails for $1,700
Does anyone have any time saving tips they use to scan their photos?

Re: Scanning photos for slide shows
I place as many pictures as I can on the scanner bed, then slice up the results in Photoshop for individual pics.
There's a service that will take a box of photos and scan them for you, and if I'm remembering correctly, the price isn't bad. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the company. Someone here probably has a better memory than I do.
Personally, I wouldn't invest such a huge amount in an automated scanner unless I expected to increase my own revenue with it.

This is the company that scans them at a reasonable price.

Okay, you can remember everything from A through M, and I'll take N through Z.

I have an Epson 2480 Photo Scanner and it has an option to select more than one photo to scan at a time. I'm sure many other scanners would have this ability.
You put as many photos on the scanner as will fit. Then you select each one and draw a marquee around it. The scanner will scan each one until they're done. No need to do any cropping afterwards.

Photoshop Elements (and probably other editors) has an option to extract individual images from a multi-image scan automagically so that's yet another option.
