A few details are missing in your description -- what OS ?? Do you mean when you
click a show at the photodex site it does not play ?? If that is the case, then you
probably have a security setting set wrong (and you need to have installed the
active-X presenter control - you will usually be prompted on that the first time
you try to view a show). You will not see anything downloaded until you get
the ability to view the show working properly. You need to get the ability to
view a show from the site working before the rest of this will work.

In this case it is the xyzzy at the end of the thread description that is the magic code
It is the magic code used in a very early 'Adventure' game. Too old for me to remember , but I believe it was a text only adventure, none of this high definition graphics.
There are ways and means for us thar have failing memories. However I do believe Mikey is well organised with the repeat answers. I look them up everytime.

Me ? Organized ?? I have got to show that to my wife !! She will
split a gut laughing.
Glad people find it useful (Brian is right - that was a magic word used
in a text only adventure game - sometimes special things happened,
others, you got the response "nothing happens"). This will date me -- it
ran on the old CP/M systems (8080 and Z-80 processors).

I am using Vista Home Premium Home edition. I did as you instructed and it worked perfect. the problem I have is when I open a sample program to play and decide to close it, the sound continues to play. the only way I have found to shut down the sound is go to ct alt delete and go down to protodex presenter and close it. Do you know what need to be done so that the sound closes with the window.

See if this thread answers your question -- it appears to be an extra "feature"
from Photodex.

Very Helpful!
Mikey,
Thanks for the enhanced details.
The explanation seems consistent with your "Engineer of Course" profile.
I've worked with a lot of engineers. I'd say you're unique in that field.

The hint is really worth it. I used it to download about 2 GB of tutorials now
I just wish, Photodex had improved usability of the presenter plugin and provided a menu item for saving the shows. Also it would have been fine to have keyboard shortcuts to move back and forth in the show.
Thank you very much, Mikey!

This may be a dumb question, but if you do this process you are only able to view the show and not edit it or are you? The reason that I am asking is I have some photos that I would not want people to take copies of?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Mikey,
Thank you so much for that was just thinking yesterday I must post and ask how it is done. Now I can do it or at least try.

Not really -- the best you can really do (as far as I know) is to play the show
and do a screen capture of the slides you want. They will be in the screen
resolution so what ever you had in the original slides is lost.

I have updated the original information to reflect the Windows 7 path as well (which is the same as Vista used). Don't forget you have to show hidden folders to find it
