FYI
While browsing to another one of Fitz9016 demos, I got a message that a new presenter update was available. That has usually meant that Photodex is puttting out an update. Anyone want to guess the build number?

Masks, Yahoo, and more
First let me say that Andreas use of masks is fantastic. I hope I can learn to do this sometime soon.
For thos of you who want to know, Yes there is a Yahoo PRODUCER group. Get into your Yahoo account and try this link. Just remember that it works like the other yahoo proshow group in that you get lots of email when you post.

MAGNIFYING GLASS
Ok, for those of you that want to know more about the magnifying glass read below.
Here is the link that points to Dale's Magnifying Glass Tutorial. Lots of steps to do this.
http://www.photodex.com/sharing/viewsho ... alb=121312
This next set of instructions is from Dave, the gentlemen that created the movement of Dale's Magnifying Glass.
Earlier, I saw Dale's tutorial on the magnifying glass. Well, you
know me and my never ending quest for new special effects, so I
thought this offered some fresh possibilities if mixed with some
smooth kf motion and a layer mask or two.
So this is what I did is:
(1) saved the mag glass as a png
(2) also made a mask of the "glass" portion of the mag glass.
(3) selected an image and duped a 200% image on a PSP slide. Layer
masked the 200% image with the mag glass mask.
(4) using Kfs, moved the mag glass from player to player and matched
the mag glass motion with the mask.
(5) set each players face on the 200% image to the center of the mag
glass at each of the Kfs and just let PSP take care of smoothing the
motion.

magnifying glass
Tried a simple and quick demo of magnifying glass.
I find out, it very important to move the increased layer also with the mask.
To most difficult thing is the perfect correlation in movement between mask and increased layer.
Its absolute not perfect.
Perhaps we should open a new topic with the challenge and post our results.

With best regards
Andreas
PS: IMHO the distances in the increased layer are the greatest problem for a perfect magnifying glass.
If you increase the layer, also the distances between two points get larger - too large.
You can see it in my demos.

Re: Sliding masks
Today it`s 2012 march and I found your video by searching for masking in PSP. Very nice and great relaxing music. I also downloaded .zip file which is still on server so many years
It not only masks, but keyframes are important too. I didn`t know that mask is the one which was keyframed. Images stays as it is. It gives me some idea how it works. Thank you

Re: Sliding masks
This thread brings back so many, many memories !
It was a very long time ago, and Andreas (Adda) opened the eyes to so many people on this forum.
It's a wonder that you still found this thread.
As to your remark about the pictures not moving - that's true ONLY in this particular case.
In most cases the pictures must move together with the mask, in parallel keyframes.

The
The magnifying glass tutorials by Dave F and Dale G were preceded by this simple demo/tutorial I created at the end of Dec 2006, showing the possibility of using the new masking feature of Producer 3 ... The original demo I presented showing this lens effect was actually done several months before that ... this one just combined the tutorial with that demo in one show instead of two. It's a very simple demo compared to what Dave F and Dale G did several months later.

Yep, this effect has been around awhile!
