Find location of a picture used ??

Postby gpsmikey » Sun Feb 18, 2007 5:15 pm

In the list of available pictures, I can tell which ones have been used
because they are in bold type. What I have not figured out is how to
tell *where* it was used. If I have 300 slides, where in that show is
that picture ? Anybody know an easy way to find it on the timeline ?
What I would like to see would be something like right click the
picture and have an option for "go to" or something like that.

Thanks :D

Hmmm - I must be missing something - in the file list window (set to
"details" mode), if I right click any file name, I get a context menu
with options like "add to show", "add all files to show", "open in editor"
etc. In fact, the first option is "add to show" so if I right click then
left click, I have added that file to the show at the current cursor.
Did I miss something here ? (this is Producer 3)

[edit] OK, Now I'm really confused - I posted this in response to
Stephanie's response. Now I am talking to myself because hers
has gone away ... is it Friday the 13th ??? :?

Mikey -- how about this? open the PSH file in notepad and search for the file name. That should give you a general, relative position of the image in the show--right?

Well, yes, that is in fact what I have done -- I just sort of thought
this would be something that would just be something built in.
Seemed reasonable to me to be able to want to know where I
had used a picture in the list.

They do have a Slide --> go to slide # menu item - unfortunately,
"#" is an integer number that is simple to simply move the scroll bar
and get there.

Sorry about the post Mikey. I thought I figured a way to show where image was in slide but now I can't seem to re-create it. My bad. Sorry

No problem - it just sort of left me confused (more so than usual :? )
when it was there when I started to respond and when I was done,
I was left talking to myself :)

I'm busy working myself into a panic over a show I need to have
done by next weekend for my son. It's ok now, but I am
really not quite happy with the way it fits together.

Sigh. I think it is time for some of that blackberry wine :D

Hi again Mikey,
After my faulty post, maybe I should go have some wine. Again, so sorry. I should of double-checked before posting. What an embarrassment!
As for the project, yeap, I've been there. Even pushing a deadline, sometimes you just gotta walk away for awhile. But don't fret too much Mikey, you do good work! It'll all come together.

Stephanie

PS-What type of show are you creating for you son? Birthday, graduation, wedding, etc.

Been there, done that :)

It is a slideshow for his Eagle Scout Court of Honor -- supposed to be
15-20 minutes, mostly scouting stuff, but a mix of various things too
like family camping etc. That is what makes it hard to make it flow
together - that and I get a bit overwhelmed with what others have
managed to do. I was playing with a section of the Allison template
for some soccer pix and managed to get the layer order screwed up
-- bad things happen when you do that ! I am going to experiment
with an idea I have of instead of blank layers in a template, put a
label on each layer in a big font. Makes it easier to see what each
layer is doing as you work with it, then replace them with the real pix.
I'll get this template thing figured out pretty soon :?

well, off to bed -- 4:30 comes early (especially on Mondays) .. but first,
head for the blackberry wine for a glass -- medicinal purposes you know 8)
