Still Need An Album That Flips Photos (ATN only)

Postby Saxman28 » Fri Jan 19, 2007 5:48 am

Hi all,

Does anybody know of any software that would offer a variety of photo albums that would flip a few photos?

It must be a Photoshop Action format or something that exports to AVI to be placed on to a slide frame in PSP.

I downloaded an Album here (ATN) from PanosFX but it is limited to one landscape photo and does not flip pages.

I would like the plexibility of using portraits and lanscapes.

Anybody have one or know a few links I can explore.

TIA

I dont know if this is what your looking for or how much your willing to spend to get your effect, but have you looked at FlipAlbum from www.flipalbum.com. I think one of their versions will export to video.

Good luck,
Jason

Hi Jason,

I did a test drive of Flipalbum 6 Pro. The resolution of the photos were herendous after inserting them in to PSP. An ATN file would really do the trick for me.
I need to complete a show tonight. The customers are viewing it tomorrow. I may go with an ATN that does a page curl. Thanks for your efforts and keep your eyes and lens open if you come across my needs.

Hi Saxman,

Do you know this : http://thefreedom.free.fr/share/dload.p ... file_id=32

Maybe it's not exactly what you're looking for but I think it might interest you though.

Good luck.

Dom,

nice to see you are up and running on your website...I did view your tutorial earlier this afternoon in my computer lab. Because the album needs animation, I assume that the steps you took to create it was in great number. BTW, I couldn't get your cube to work with CS2 for some reason. Is there an update. The Zip file only contained ONE ATN file. I thought there were 2 or more. You might want to check that file on your site. Do you have an ATN Page curl available?
The weather in NEW YORK is in the teens, maybe Paris has the same?

awaiting a response.

I have this software & there's a flipbook in here....

Pat

P.S. If you want to see an example go to my slideshows on Photodex (imabeatlelover) and look at my album "McCullough wedding. It's about 10 minutes into the show. This is a very long slideshow of my daughter's wedding. You can get a lot better resolution than I did.....It was new to me when I made the Mpeg for this show. You can also make an AVi file in a much better resolution than this one. Hope this helps.

I have CS2 and the action works well.
What problem do you have ?

The zip file contains only one .atn file. But the .atn contains several actions.

You can try Panosfx B&B set of effects v.1.5 : "Open an image and play one of the many Convex, Concave and Curl actions".
http://panosfx.com/index.php?option=com ... &Itemid=27

Panosfx has a very simple tutorial about the curl page effect : http://panosfx.com/index.php?option=com ... &Itemid=29
You will use an action and a set of nine gradients he has prepared for you.

Pat,

The flip album is nice. The only critique I have is that it ends with its prgrammed back cover album page.. I'd rather not have that ending solid cover paghe and just disolve from the last photo in the album to the next slide froom its MPEG 2 or AVI format. The quality of the photos are better than the FlipAlbum Pro 6 software I tried.

Thanks for sharing!!

Dom,

I'll give it another shot. I just added 2 gigs Ram to my laptop and installed a Mozart Thermaltake case for my studio suite machine.

Saxman....when you render your Mpeg or AVI with this program you can stop the book anywhere you want, you don't have to go to the back cover or until the back cover closes....

You may like to take a look at Magix Photos on DVD. It has a fairly good page turn effect which might suit your purpose. Overall it's no match for PSP but I often use the effects in Magix to prepare odd segments. You can download a trial version if you go to the European site:

Hi Saxman

Just noticed there are a couple of "page turn" effects towards the end of the Japan show at:

http://content.magix.net/richmedia/int/ ... an_eng.asx

they're fairly quick but will give you an idea of what can be done rather than download the full program. Hope it helps
