Adjust photo position without creating movement
I am trying to figure out how to adjust a photo within a slide to slide up/down within a frame but NOT create any movement when doing so. For example, I want to slide a photo down a smidge so the subject's head isn't cut off, so I drag the yellow frame down to adjust where I think it needs to be. When I go to preview the slide, it moves the photo down alright, but then creates a keyframe motion to slide it back up to its original position. How can I reposition the photo and not create any motion?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
Try this (It won't make sense at first but it will later; after you become more intimate with key frames)
Move you photo where you'd like it to be..........final position
Then go to the bottom set of menus and select "copy"
Choose "Copy to the next key frame"
This should fix your problem............NOW
every time you "nudge" a photo..............go back to the COPY menu and copy to the next key frame.......
Hope this fixes it

Hmmm...I did exactly as you directed, but still have motion.
Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
Make sure you are in the EFFECTS window when doing this...........
You should be seeing two photos.....(Both the same) one on the left and one on the right......
Move the one on the left.......
Then copy to the next key frame......

Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
G'day
If this is just the one photo in a slide with no movement, by moving the photo initially you may have created extra keyframes. In the effects window you should be able to see all the keyframes, so just delete any keframes between the start and end keyframes then do as Texan suggested reposition your photo then copy to next keyframe.

Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
The other trick that works - if this is a new slide and doesn't have any keyframes yet, you can go to the "layer Settings" tab then move the slide where you want it and it doesn't add any keyframes (with motion). If you are on the "Effects" tab, then when you move it, it automatically creates a begin/end keyframed location.

Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
This is actually a slide with 7 layers (Alternating Squares 3) and only one photo doesn't fit correctly in the frame, all the others do. If I am looking at the Effects tab with both windows displayed, I move the photo in the left frame (and see it moving in the right). I then go to Copy and select Copy to Next Keyframe. I preview it and still see the photo slide up. If I delete the additional keyframe created by repositioning the photo, it doesn't display the photo I was working with at all, but instead shows another one in it's place for an extended amount of time (with no motion). Getting so frustrated that I think I should just pick another slide style and be done with it! However, I run into this problem a lot and would like to know the right way to solve it. I just wonder if it's not working because of the slide style (being 7 layers). I will have to try this technique on a 1-layer slide. Any other suggestions?
Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
The style Alternating Squares 3 from Photodex StylePack 5 is a rather complex style.
Each image appears twice, and each instance has keyframes of its own, depending on when the image appears in the timeline of the style.
All the techniques explained to you above refer to simple cases where you have an image on screen and you don't want it to move.
The style Alternating Squares is not like that, unfortunately, so more work is needed.
Which image number gives you problems?
I'm now online and will try to troubleshoot you.
BTW, in Producer 5 you can only write values in ONE keyframe at a time, so my advice to you is not to work with two screens, because it will only confuse you.
Work with one screen only, and you will know for sure that what you see is one keyframe, and that the values underneath are only for that keyframe and not some other keyframe.

Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
You are awesome! The image I'm having issues with is #6...
Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
That's a simple one
There are 3 keyframes there, and they are ALL identical.
In Keyframe 1 position your picture where you want it.
Now, put your mouse on keyframe 1 and Right click.
Choose Copy to next
Now your keyframe 2 is identical to 1
Put your mouse on keyframe 2 to select it.
Right click.
Choose again Copy to next.
Now all your 3 keyframes are identical and the picture doesn't move AT ALL

Re: Adjust photo position without creating movement
Sorry, I take it back
I see now what you mean when you say that you see some other picture.
What I suggest is for you to move from the end of the keyframes, to the beginning.
Choose keyframe 3, and position your picture.
Right click on keyframe 3 and choose COPY TO PREVIOUS
Go to Keyframe 2 (which now is identical to 3) and Right click.
Choose COPY TO PREVIOUS.
Although you cannot see keyframe 1 on screen, it is now identical to all the others.
Sorry for not seeing the problem from the first.
