Drawing shapes and arrows and stuff

Thu Sep 02, 2010 10:23 am

Following on form a thread in the general bit, here is a quick guide to making shapes and arrows in proshow producer.

Basic shapes:

Square: layers tab, editing , then add a new layer ( plus sign) select solid colour, with the same resolution ( ie 740x740 )
Circle, create a square as above, then go to vignette and select shape elipse, type transparent, and everything else at zero

Triangle, create a square, go to crop go to rotate and enter 45% next enter a number in the crop left/right/top/bottom values to bring a box around the solid colour, you can then drag the box down to the required size for your triangle.

Arrows, these can be created with fonts, all of these are with wingdings

Arrow Up, wingding font character é on the keyboard, or hold ALT and type 0233 ( numbers)
Arrow down: ê or ALT+0234
Arrow left: ç or ALT+0231
Arrow Right: è ALT 0232

Theres a full guide to the wingdings character codes ( ie ALT+???? ) here http://fay.iniminimo.com/symbol_fonts.html

Quite useful. Never realised that fonts can be used like this. Mohan

Hi Richard, nice but dim here !
Cannot get the arrows to work - Alt 0233 gives me only an accented é, no arrow.
What am I missing, please.

Mike, you are correct - if you have a font such as Arial selected. If you select the 'Wingdings' font and type ALT 0233 on the numeric keypad you will get an upward arrow.
