Explode text layer?

Postby rgb2cmyk » Thu Aug 26, 2010 4:15 pm

I am making a business related show, and want to have a slowly enlarging text layer eplode into a fragmented burst at the crescendo of the soundtrack, but can't figure out how to do this. Can anybody offer suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Find a style that does the exploding. Choice Backgrounds has one such style (there may be others). Then, create your text using a graphic editor . . . create graphic text. That's the best way.

Would the built in caption fly-out "explode" choice do it for you?

Example:

kf1- font size 24
kf2 - font size 45 - (select "explode" fly-out caption transition.)

OR

kf1 - font size 24
kf2 - font size 30
kf3 - font size 95 - choose explode fly-out

Font size is just a suggestion, your mileage may vary depending on the type of font chosen for your show.

Give kf1 to kf 2 longer time than the time in between kf2 to kf3 and see if you like that.

Visually, it might look a bit like this:

kf1................................................................................kf2........kf3

It's possible your fly-out transition time might be about the same amount of time as what is in between kf2 and kf3. You'll have to fiddle to get it how you want it. You may also need to change the ending position of the caption in kf3 to get the right look.

Dale and Deb, thank you very much for taking the time to reply.

Deb, I ended up working out a solution with your suggestion. It did indeed take some tweakin' on my part, but it's the best way to learn this program. Worked beautifully!

Thanks again!
