Kaleidoscope Slide Style
OK - here goes - my first attempt at a slide style so feedback eagerly sought.
This produces the Kaleidoscope effect that so many people found attractive when I posted an example. It requires a single picture and that's all.

A later version is available here:

It incorporates the discoveries in this thread and also goes a step further in that you can move the centre of the kaleidoscope if you wish - even animate it!

Re: Kaleidoscope Slide Style
Very, very nicely done !!
As far as I could see, there is no need to crop the image to a square, as you wrote, because your mask takes care of that. Your mask is a square, and you positioned it quite far from the image edges.
I looked at this with 4x3 pictures and 4x6 pictures, in both widescreen and standard format shows.
Very nice effect, and very ingenious ! Thank you.

Isn't this fun? Glad it's working ok. Wonder what mischief I can get up to next? I actually started out in the Kaleidoscope Adventure to try out modifiers but they weren't necessary.
And, Mona, you're quite right - it seems to work with any picture which is why I changed my first post but I realise my note in the style itself still remains.
And thanks to Mac for setting me on the Style Path.

Peter,
Very nice effect.
You never know what you'll end up with sometimes. You start out doing one thing and end up doing another! You may have discovered that modifiers weren't needed here but the I bet if you did apply them you'd learn modifiers well. It looks like this would be a great stress test (literally! ) -- you might even have some hair left after you succeed! ( )

Re: Kaleidoscope Slide Style
This is pretty neat. I tossed a dog picture into the style and it's pretty funny to see all eye balls and feet swirling around the screen. LOL
Also added the same image to a bottom layer, set zoom to 261, blur to 45, white and bright to 50, vertical pan from 0/-82 to 0/82 just so the entire screen is covered. Of course that's motion overdo but it's all in fun.
Thanks Peter!

Peter -
Thanks much for the slide style! My mind is racing with possibilities and trials which means no sleep and
not getting anything else done. Fun though! Thanks for your ingenuity and generosity!
Smiles,
Sandy
PS - I wonder what the style would look like with a rectangular slice instead of a wedge.
