NEW CLIENT OF MINE - pricing help

Postby HunnyB » Mon Mar 31, 2008 8:21 am

If I get this slideshow to do for this client:
www.joeyhorn.com
I think he is going to want "lots" of copies of his show to distribute around.

Will I be able to handle this volume? I don't know say, 100 copies.
OR MORE? I guess this would be an easy way to make some extra cash.

Or should I SELL him the total rights to the show?
If yes, how much should I charge for that?
And what would I give him? The whole program file from Producer,
or an ISO copy???? Help.

If you don't have a duplicator I would let him do his own copies otherwise I would charge him 20.00 per DVD. Charge what you normally would for a show and if he wants the "royalty free" rights add 50.-100.00 if you want. Hugs Jan

Thanks Jan.
I know this is a stupid question, but what is a "duplicator"?
May be something I need to purchase.

I bet if I get this client, he is going to want Hunny's House to make the copies.
$20.00 seems steep. I think $7-9 is reasonable.
:?:

We will see...........
I will have to think about this..........

Hunny,

Unless you are going to be duplicating disks all the time, I recommend that you farm out the job.

Here is a place I have used for work.

http://www.diskduper.com/prices.htm

Three bucks each in quantity 100. Fast & friendly!

HunnyB,

I kept this link from a while back. Probably got it here. They duplicate your media and package it for you with a quick turnaround. Maybe it would work??

Hunny,

The artist does beautiful work.

Here is another thought. It's possible he would want to update the production from time to time to include images of his newer work. You might want to think of what you would charge to do that for him whether it's a whole new production fee or an hourly fee to do the modifications and re-rendering, etc.

Hi HunnyB - I use Discmakers - you can order short runs online, send in the master and they ship in 2 days.

Mary

PS Thank you for the Grad template - I was trying to figure out what you did!!! Love it.

F.Y.I.

With us you actually speak with one of the company owners. Personal touch is better than ordering online...I.M.H.O.! Better explanation of what's available...plus online forms are not sympathetic to your situation...we always strive to go the extra distance.

We don't ship in 2 days. We typically ship the finished order the same day in which we receive it. Another very important fact is where most companies ship UPS ground...well...we prefer to ship U.S.P.S. Priority 2 day. No extra charge for that service either.

Short runs or long runs...we only hit home runs!

1,000 DVDs @ $600.00 just in time for all the graduation productions that Proshow people are working on. Add a few extra pennys for full color printing and special packaging...if that's what's called for.

Shorter runs will have a higher cost per unit price as you would expect. All in all I'm really cutting the costs so that you will realize higher profits.
