Help me pick my tag line

Postby Patricia_C » Tue Jan 19, 2010 6:05 pm

Hi Folks,

Can you help me pick my tag line. I can't decide. I'm sure they are not an original thought and there are other variations. And if you don't like these and something swings into your mind, please post it. I'm to the point where I am getting brochures printed and I need to decide.

Business name is Digital Heirloom Studios and I concentrate on doing family history slideshows.

Thank you in advance.

Patty,

Of the two you have there, I like the first one. It's shorter and the words yesterday, today, tomorrow - I can feel a better sense of time flow with these words.

I know taglines can be tricky because you want something that's memorable, descriptive, and all around awesome.
But you did a good job!

Thanks for the comment Tim.

I see it is almost a tie, which is not helping me.
I like the shortness of the first one, but what is bothering me about the first one is the "perserve tomorrow" because I'm not really perserving tomorrow-I'm perserving fortomorrow. But I do like the words yesterday, today and tomorrow better than the past, present and future. And the 2nd one seems so much longer to me.

So we'll see how it goes.

Patty,

Pl have a look at some of the quotes from google search:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls= ... art=0&sa=N

http://thinkexist.com/quotes/with/keyword/tomorrow/

“Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.”
What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow.
“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”

Cherish Yesterday...Dream Tomorrow...Live Today.

http://quotes.wordpress.com/2006/11/27/ ... -tomorrow/

the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. ...

Hi,

Then, what's wrong with:

Honor Yesterday, Celebrate Today, Preserve for Tomorrow

It's still nice and compact and uses the words you wanted.

How about just simply:

Celebrate Yesterday, Today, and Tommorrow with "Name of company"

Hey, thanks everyone for the suggestions. I've a bit of time to think about it. Ah decisions, decisions. But your input really helps.

Patty,
I took a look at your site and I think Ginger has it right. If you insert the word "for" it would clear up the meaning and the whole tag line would still look great on your site. One thing I would try is the following with caps - it would help punch up the three key words in the tag line, but if your're like me, I'd have to see it on your site to decide:

HONOR Yesterday, CELEBRATE Today, PRESERVE for Tomorrow

If the lowercase letters spoil the look you currently have of all caps, then maybe try a "small caps" font so the look would be something like one of these - except the difference in size and boldness should not be as severe as the limited choices in the forum fonts:

HONOR YESTERDAY, CELEBRATE TODAY, PRESERVE FOR TOMORROW

HONOR YESTERDAY, CELEBRATE TODAY, PRESERVE FOR TOMORROW

You could also try dots or little squigglies between the phrases instead of commas.
Your site is looking great!

OK, well I went with...
Honor Yesterday, Celebrate Today, Preserve For Tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions.

Mark--my basic account and template with WordPress doesn't allow me to alter the type, so kind of stuck with what is there. But I think it looks ok for me.

As for the wedding photos, the photographer I had been in contact with is strickly kids portraits. No, she hasn't contacted me at the time she said, but I'm preparing to contact her again. Other than a wedding show, which I've yet to do, I'm done with samples shows for now and will be strickly working on marketing. Now there is another monster all together.

I think maybe one of the main things that scares me is that I am so not computer file literate. You want me to send you what now?

Thanks for the enthusasist support!
