Anyone have any tips for a good web site hosting service? I won't want any ads on my site. Thanks!

I use GoDaddy to purchase/register my domains and for my hosting service. It's not free but gives the user freedom not to have ads if you don't want them.

You might try Homestead (www.homestead.com). They offer different packages and their software makes it easy to design your own site.

It probably depends on what you want in a web site. For commercial work, I strongly suggest building your own site and using a host such as GoDaddy like Debbie and I both do. For blogs, it looks as if WordPress might be the way to go, though you still need a server to host the site. If you're not quite sure yet what you want to do, all internet providers as far as I know give their customers a certain amount of free server space. That's how I started out ages ago, cutting my teeth on free space.

Hello,

Another vote for GoDaddy.com

They also provide direct phpBB development from within their site. Not the least expensive but good solid service and support.
