template found --- now what??????

Postby HunnyB » Tue Jul 31, 2007 12:55 pm

I see my "zipped" downloaded "template" folder in
C: > Doc/Sett.> (user)> App. Data> Photodex> Producer > temp. FOLDER.
BUT, I don't see it when I am trying to "open a template" from within Producer 3 ver. 1492.
How do I open and download these "zipped" files so I can try them out in a show?
THANKS

You need to double click it and unzip it. Do you have WinZip??? You want to install as per the other notes on here. cheers Jan

PS: this is where they need to be - and then they will show up.

Assuming you have windows XP.

Postby hardsoftware » Tue Jul 31, 2007 3:39 pm

Have you tried clicking on the zipped file? When you do a window opens up with the files to be extracted and to the left you should see something that says "extract all files" this is windows xp version of extracting files. Click on it.

Okay, I did that. I extracted the zip folders and saved them in the same place I found them.
When I am in Producer and go to open a template, I can't find them........
I AM LOST HERE.

Okay guys, this is what is happening.
If I open Producer, I have to go to
File>open>C>Doc.Settings> blah blah blah ........
I have to grab my template from there.

My downloaded templates do not show up when I go to Show>show templates>open templates.

ummmm........

I am in the process of building you a tutorial......on that note .psh files are not templates. They are actual shows that you just replace the pics.....hugs Jan

I have created a tutorial file that I can"YOU SEND IT" to you. I posted it on Photodex ( http://www.photodex.com/sharing/viewsho ... 6037&alb=0) but it is pretty big and takes forever ( actually haven't seen it play yet)
Send me an email at nannybear@shaw.ca and I will send it to you. 9:36 PST my time now, and I will be at work tomorrow, but will get on it when I get home....

Cheers Jan

Nannybear:

Any chance I could get your tutorial emailed to me also? I realize this is way after the fact, but I just started using PSP and find this template thing very confusing!!

I will go watch the one on the link, but I feel I'm going to need to watch it multiple times!!

Thanks,
Ruth

The way I do it is double click on the zip file, the files inside the zip are exposed, I drag and drop them into a folder, I save my zips on an external drive so I will always have them safe, then I open Producer, go to Show, Import template, navigate to the folder where I just put them, they import, then they show up when I go to show templates. It works for me that way, if it's a pst that is, if it's a psh I just open it as a new show in my project, then remove it after I copy any of the slides I need.
does that help?
WOW, for me, thats a pretty big step I learned :)
very proud of myself :D :D
