Procedure of making a border for a title slide
I have attempted to make a border around an all black back ground title slide without success. It can easily be done for a photo! What is the hidden secret? Thank you in advance for your expertize and help.

Now, that said, if you're doing a background, it'll have to be a gradient or a graphic ... and use a vignette. Or you can add a vignette to a solid layer.
If you use the lowest level layer in the layer queue, you can use the techniques given above.
There are a number of ways to do what you want. The question then becomes, what (exactly) are you trying to do? What does your title slide look like? How big is it (zoom and scale are involved here, as is the aspect of the graphic or layer being used as the title layer. Note that the lowest layer is "below" all other layers on the slide ... but above the slide background (which I hardly ever use).
When you say that it's easily done with a photo, what do you mean? What are you doing to create the border in that case?

The first lines of your reply placed me in the right frame of mind to accomplish my needs. After reading and analyzing your statement I was able to reason out the "how to" get the job done.
Then too, I did go through the reference material and tutorials, and as a result, I have a more solid understanding of the mechanics of the various processes. While reviewing the video tutorials I had fond memories of being back in class at the university. Mr. Fenimore reminded me of a professor that I had for physical science.
Thank you kindly for sharing your time help and technical knowledge.
