High School Senior Slideshow

Postby Cyclefitness » Tue Aug 11, 2009 2:11 pm

I'm looking for a template that would give an "Animoto-type" presentation of photographic images of a high school senior.

Here's an example
http://animoto.com/photography/casestudies#senior

I know they bill their product as the "end of slideshows," but as a photographer I simply can't afford yet another monthly fee for bells and whistles. I own ProShow and think it should be able to create YouTube videos just fine.

Thanks for any help!

I don't know of an "Animoto" type slide style but some nice styles do exist, many by some of the forum members. Also some have used the "Jenny Zarem" effect that might give you some very fast-moving images; however, they aren't really meant to be viewed closely--pretty much a build-up for the show, I think.

I certainly can't agree that Animoto is the "end of slideshows." If one wants images flipping randomly at break-neck speeds, it may be just the "ticket" for them. For nice custom slide shows, I fear it takes putting some time and effort into a slide show builder such as one of Proshow's products.

Where do I find out how to create the Jenny Zarem effect? There are some motion I like there, but others I don't.

I'm still using ProShow Gold 3.5.2249.

Cyclefitness --

I used the "Jenny Zarem" effect for my friend's daughter's senior pictures -- here it is put to 2 different songs.

"Let It Rock" (this was inspired by seeing another poster's "Michele" video on this site) http://snapshotsinmotion.com/Jessica%20 ... 0Rock.html

"Don't You Know You're Beautiful" http://snapshotsinmotion.com/Jessica%20 ... tiful.html

It did take me about 2 days only because I have a real job, plus I was teaching myself the "Jenny Zarem Effect". Is this what you are looking for?

I looked into Animoto, but it seems too fast and jerky for me -- I think ProShow should work just fine for you.

VidQueen (aka Jennifer) also has some pretty cool styles (or are they templates???) that simulate an animoto look, if you will. I'm thinking they were in the My Story Template - maybe she has done some slide styles of the individual slides that were pretty "animoto-ish". Worth checking....http://www.choicebackgrounds.com

Thanks, everyone.

I just followed a tutorial on YouTube for creating a slideshow that pans in from the bottom and slides off the top, bringing the next image in. It was amazing the contortions you had to go through to make it happen, including adding another slide of the same image at the end of each one so you could pause it for 2 seconds rather than having it zap and disappear.

I figured if I spent the time to create what I want once, then I could just drop images in, kind of like Photoshop templates. But it doesn't look like that's the case. Is that what templates do in the latest release? I have version 3.5.

Did you remember to check or uncheck (I've forgotten which) the little box on Layers Setting (or Layers Editing) which makes the photo in the original slide replaceable when you use it as a style or template. One of the gurus will explain this better than I'm doing.

Sorry ... Gavin Phillips makes Photoshop and Lightroom actions. ;-)

If anyone has any other favorite authors of online tutorials, I'd love to have the reference.

Thanks!
