I'm insulted. There's no information back further than 1950. Do the people running the site think all the rest of us are dead? :shock:

When did charts start?

Don't worry, I expect charts only started with the "light programme" I thought you all had family sing songs round the piano before that!!

I only just crept in at 1957

They had charts in the year I was born, which was 1945. I imagine number-one hits didn't follow far behind the era in which most people had radios...whenever that was.

Oh well count me out, but I am very glad to now I am not the oldest around here, (1947) I really thought
all of you were in the region of 40 years and down. :-)
