Silly on a Tuesday

Postby BarbaraC » Wed May 25, 2011 7:09 am

I was a total derelict yesterday due to a bout of silliness. I said the heck with everything, hooked up my Yamaha keyboard, and started tinkering with the keys until something suddenly matched my mood. This is the result, posted here for anyone who's feeling a bit glum. :D

It does, doesn't it? I think I'll place it on my desktop for those moments when I'm ready to blow a gasket over something. The next time I'm bent on doing squat, I could create a silly show to go with the silly music--perhaps ants doing a soft shoe onscreen (instead of across the kitchen counter).

Well that was fun. While I was there I listened to your other pieces. Nice work.

One of these days I will record some with my Native American flute and post it. One of my projects on the back burner is to put together some of my own music with my own images in a slide show.

Thanks, Robert.

BUT...get that project off the back burner. Record you and your flute, post it over on SoundCloud, use your music for your own show, and for goodness' sake, PM me when you've done these things.

DO IT!!!!

ok, ok. You realize that I am not merely an amateur crastinator, I am a procrastinator.

Years ago I had a friend who hung a huge poster that he'd made on his wall. It had nothing on it but huge block letters that said, "NOW!" He was very happy with his poster, though I'm not sure it did diddly-squat for him. Procrastination is something we're all very, very good at, by the way. I've had so many years of practice that I could rule the world with it...if I ever got around to it.

Actually the quote that I have found most helpful recently was one I found in another forum:

"The search for best is endless ... Instead simply find very good and get the job done."

For some very nice Native American flute music, also give Douglas Spotted Eagle a listen http://www.spottedeagle.com/index.html (he is active in the Sony Video editor forums). (I do have to admit I like the "I'm not an amateur crastinator, I am a PRO-crastinator - gonna have to remember that one ! )
