How do I "use" Royality free music in a show for you tube?

Postby jacktar » Mon Apr 25, 2011 10:18 am

Hi again.
I have found the music of a guy named Kevin Macleod.
This music is royality free and as good as any.
The music can be used for comercial and non comercial use.
The problem is:
Places like You Tube and Trip Advisor write that if I dont have the royality to the music used in the show, the show wil be rejected.

So the question is: How do I tell these people that the music is free to use ( Without writing a full page of text in my show to explain this) ?
What is the correct thing to do about this? ( On the slideshow itself)

Best regards

If it were me I'd just create the show and upload it to YouTube. If I then received an email telling me my music was in some kind of copyright violation I would provide a direct link to the song at the site you referenced. I don't know how to better show that you can use the music than that.

This may answer your question. About half way down the page is "how to place a credit for this music in my project."

Hi,

I uploaded a show to YouTube just recently that had purchased royalty-free (Smartsound) music and received the notice about the copyright issue. I politely filled out the very short "challenge-type" form and submitted it. Within minutes the note about the copyrighted issue was gone. I didn't have to write very much at all--just a few seconds to complete it.

I use music by Kevin in all my vacation videos that I make with Producer and then upload to YouTube. Go to the end of this video and see the last slide...I have never had a problem with Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afoSYawmbW4

Also, in the YouTube information area, I always mention Kevin.
