Songs to remember Firemen/Fire Department

Postby KatzInAZ » Thu Feb 03, 2011 6:49 am

Hi

I'm working on a video to commemorate and say thank you to a long time volunteer Fire Department that is closing it's doors.

You folks always have great ideas - so I'm here to pick your brains!

Have:
Alan Jackson - "Remember When"

Looking for songs capturing
* Remember the past
* Heros
* Courage
* Thanks
* The human spirit

you get the idea!

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Cheers and make it a great day

Kathy

Compiling a list - so thought I'd just add to as I went. Anyone else have other ideas, please chip in! Would love some to capture the spirit and bravery of the folks, not necessarily when someone passes.

Remember When - Alan Jackson
Army Strong - US Army Field Bank
Hero - Mariah Carey
End Title "The Hero" from "The Babe" - Cincinnati Pops
Angels Among Us - Alabama
I Will Remember You - Ryan Cabrera
Show Me Your Firetruck - Hans Zimmer

I just did a show for my husband's retirement from the fire department.
I found some really cute songs on I-tunes. Do a search for "fireman".

George Straight, The Fireman
is one that I used

Another one called, Mr. Fireman do your thing.....something like that, it is really good.

Good luck

I too am doing a firefighter show and a Navy Reunion Show.
I downloaded a complete album from Itunes called Patriotic America for the Navy Show, but the Fireman show, they also loved and used to dance to YMCA.

I WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO HAVE A TOOL TO SNIP OUT ALL THE GREAT IDEAS OR SAVE THEM ON HERE, SUCH AS YOUR SONG LIST. I AM NOW COPYING AND PASTING INTO A WORD DOCUMENT TO CREATE MY OWN, BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THIS SITE HAD ITS OWN, PERHAPS YOU DO AND I JUST DO NOT KNOW ABOUT IT.

I AM LOOKING FOR PATRIOTIC SAMPLES IF ANYONE CAN HELP FOR THE NAVY SHOW.
REUNION IS DUE IN MAY. I FOUND ONE ON CHOICE BACKGROUNDS BUT THAT IS ABOUT IT.

ALSO, CAN WE USE ITUNES MUSIC WITHOUT INFRINGING ON COPYRIGHT?

If you want to sign up for a drop box account I can drop some mp3 patriotic songs in there for you.

I put my songs into a spreadsheet and then I can sort based on patriotic, birthday, etc. Not glamorous but works, since I didn't want to create a database just yet.

Timeless, if you want to shoot me email at kathy@reflectvideos.com with your email address, I will share my dropbox folder with you.

Many thanks!

Kathy
