redbeardmusic vocals

Postby slideshower » Tue Jan 25, 2011 9:48 pm

Hi,
This site has really nice royalty-free vocal songs directed to slideshow users, etc. http://www.redbeardmusic.com/zen-site/index.php
There aren't too many songs yet and they are quite expensive - $30 to use as many times as you like within 1 year. This site was recommended on the Stock20 royalty-free music site. Here are a couple of FAQ from redbeard music that explains more about them:

Q. Where did you guys come from? A. RedbeardMusic.com was launched by Stock20.com in January 2008. Stock20 provides broadcast quality instrumental music with very flexible licensing. Stock20 provided a few of these vocal selections for about a year under the experimental "Special Artist Licensing" program. For the purpose of better customer service, better selection, and world-domination, the two services became unique entities.

Q. Why doesn't RedbeardMusic have crazy sales and major discounts like Stock20? A. Well, Stock20 and RedbeardMusic used to be more like "syameese twins" than "sister sites". And this is one of the main reasons they had to part ways. We don't make the music you find on RedbeardMusic. We find talented artists with great music and bring it to you. They are trying to make a living in a very difficult industry. So we try to make sure that this is one place where they can get paid decently, so all licensing fees are shared with them.

Q. When will there be more music? A. We're going to try to release at least one new song each month this year.

Thought it might interest some here. Lucie

I just now sampled their music, and it's certainly good. I read through the FAQs and licensing agreement, and I'd suggest that people question them if considering a piece of music. For slide shows such as memorials or weddings, their licensing agreement appears to limit distribution to 10 DVDs, which may not be enough for certain shows.
