Looking for songs for a "pregnancy" show

Postby Brent » Fri Dec 10, 2010 11:49 am

My sister-in-law just had her baby, and i was going to make a slideshow for her from her pregnancy days to meeting her little man. The types of pics i have to work with are her and her husband setting up the baby room, her week-by-week belly update, ultrasound pics, misc pregnancy pics, and the hospital days... I am looking for songs that relate to pregnancy, having a child, etc........
if you could help me, that'd be great...
thanks

Hey Brent
Here's a possibilty it's a beautiful song but not well known at all but thats not important.
Not sure if you think it fits but it was the first song that came to mind after reading your post.
A little country even though I'm all classic rock ... lol
"There Goes My Life" by Kenny Chesney

All he could think about was I'm too young for this.
Got my whole life ahead.
Hell I'm just a kid myself.
How'm I gonna raise one.

All he could see were his dreams goin' up in smoke.
So much for ditchin' this town and hangin' out on the coast.
Oh well, those plans are long gone.

[Chorus:]
And he said,
There goes my life.
There goes my future, my everything.
Might as well kiss it all good-bye.
There goes my life.......

A couple years of up all night and a few thousand diapers later.
That mistake he thought he made covers up the refrigerator.
Oh yeah..........he loves that little girl.

Momma's waiting to tuck her in,
As she fumbles up those stairs.
She smiles back at him dragging that teddy bear.
Sleep tight, blue eyes and bouncin' curls.

[Chorus:]
He smiles.....
There goes my life.
There goes my future, my everything.
I love you, daddy good-night.
There goes my life.

She had that Honda loaded down.
With Abercrombie clothes and 15 pairs of shoes and his American Express.
He checked the oil and slammed the hood, said you're good to go.
She hugged them both and headed off to the West Coast.

[Chorus:]
And he cried,
There goes my life.
There goes my future, my everything.
I love you.
Baby good-bye.

There goes my life.
There goes my life.
Baby good-bye.

thanks guys for the replies, i will listen to them and make some decisions, as i want to get this show started, so i can get it to them by x-mas.

@ ron - i actually am a country fan, and know that song very well...

i like it and it might make it on the list, but i have a couple in mind i thought of over the weekend, and i just need to start putting it together cause i am not sure how long the show is gonna be... i'm not thinking super long, so 2 songs might be enough...

the 2 songs i have come up with are Blessed by Elton John, and Godspeed by Dixie Chicks... she is a fan of dixie chicks, so that is very fitting for her... Blessed is also a good choice i think cause it talks about what color eyes it'll have and etc...

thanks again, and i appreciate your thougths...
