Childlike & Whimsical clips

Postby gg0709 » Wed Aug 11, 2010 9:55 pm

Hello All,

I am working on a go-off-to-college show which starts with a few slides of the youngster as an infant & toddler. Where can I find free/inexpensive music clips to use with these slides? I'm looking for a childlike & whimsical feel. Any good sources?

Just did a show for my niece who graduated from Northeastern with young Megan photos included.

I used Phil Collins On My Way from the Brother Bear soundtrack. Love this song!

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question:
"Where can I find free/inexpensive music clips to use with these slides? I'm looking for a childlike & whimsical feel." but I thought I would offer the one song I know.

Good luck with the show!
Sandy

Thanks Sandy, I'll check out your recommendations. I think there was a show on the forum that used the tunes I'm looking for, just can't find it, hope someone can.

Try doing a google search for Raffi He specializes in childrens songs. Check out Bananaphone on youtube. :D I've seen Baby Beluga used in at least one show on this forum but I wouldn't know how to locate it.

You can also try Mrs. McPuppet here: http://mrsmcpuppet.com/waltzingwithfireflies.htm

Very good children's music, and if you ask, she might give you permission to use one of her songs for just an acknowledgment.

Have you ever heard the "Apple of my eye – Cuppy Cake" song? If the show is for a girl this is very cute.

As suggested, Raffi is great for kids music. I also like George Winston for kids music. For free stuff, check out freeplaymusic.com. Their music is free for personal use and they have a huge selection of great clips.

Heckydog -- Clicking inthe right spot works!

Sandy -- Your show gives me great ideas!

All others who have kindly tried to help -- Thanks very much, haven't had a chance to check your referrals all out but I will, soon as I can.

I now have a specific example to point to: "Nighty Night" from a sevice called Shockwave, does anyone know where I can find royalty-free music similar to this?

Sandy -- Yes, I think all these replies will be very useful.

A friend clued me to youtube, and I've found a tune I like... Is this legal, and how can I download it?

I found a free app "Free YouTube to MP3 Converter 3.8" and it was easy to download "Bedtime Baby", very close to what I was looking for.

Thanks to all !
