As many Pro Show Enthusiasts know, it is illegal to use popular commercial copyrighted music in DVD slide shows (even for personal use) unless one purchases a very expensive "sync" license.
I did not see any reference in the article below (recent rulemaking document from the Library of Congress) about the non-commercial use of music in personal DVD's (such as slide shows). Maybe next time!
