SONGS FOR TWINS

Postby imabeatlelover » Sat Jun 27, 2009 7:35 pm

OK...this one is a toughie! I wanted to do a short slide show for my dear friend's grandchildren's birthday. It's their first birthday, they are a boy and a girl. I'd kind of like to keep it upbeat (I don't want them crying or anything) but still personal. I'm totally lost! Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Pat

Here are a few that I have used for my kids ....

'You've got a Friend in Me' - Theme from Toy Story

'Best Friends' by William (from Madagascar:Escape to Africa!!) - about to use this one!!!

'Forrest Gump (main theme)' - The O'Neil Borthers - this is an instrumental but really pretty

Theme from Finding Nemo - also very sweet!!

'Forever Young' by Rod Stewart

Hmmmm - that's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck!!

The Things We've Handed Down by Art Garfunkle
Let Them Be Little by Lonestar

Be well and enjoy ALL!

My first thought was the Beatles "Two of Us", and then I saw your user name! What a fun upbeat song, you could follow with All You Need is Love! That would really put your stamp on it.
Other song ideas:
LeeAnn Womack - I Hope You Dance
Rascal Flatts - My Wish
Darius Rucker - It Won't Be Like This Forever
Billy Dean - Let Them Be Little
As you can see - LOTS of country songs.
Another cool idea (I think) would be
Somewhere Over the Rainbow / What A Wonderful World medley
by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

It makes it a bit harder when you have a boy AND a girl. My all time favorite girl song is by Will Hoge - Baby Girl. My baby girl is 23 and when I hear that song it's like a movie plays in my head of her growing up.

What a fun show to do - Good Luck

A really good one is the Olsen twins - "I am the cute one". Used it in a DVD of my granddaughters.

Thanks so much everyone for the great ideas. I am also going to keep a list of these songs for future reference. It looks like I have a decision to make but at least now I have a lot of choices. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

I can take just the one section out if you want - cheers Jan

Colin Raye -
He finally gave in to his friend's girlfriend when she said "there's someone you should meet"
At a crowded restaurant way cross town, he waited impatiently
When she walked in, their eyes met,
And they both stared
Right there and then,
Everyone else disappeared, but

Chorus

One boy, one girl,
Two hearts beating wildly,
To put it mildly, it was love at first sight.
He smiled, she smiled, and they knew right away
This was the day they'd been waiting for all their lives.
For a moment the whole world
Revolved around one boy, and one girl

In no time at all, they were standing there in the front of a little church
Among their friends and family, repeating those sacred words.
The preacher said "son, kiss your bride"
And he raised her veil
Like the night they met,
Time just stood still, for

Chorus

He was holding her hand when the doctor looked up and grinned,
"Congratulations, twins"

One boy, one girl
Two hearts beating wildly
To put it mildly, it was love at first sight.
He smiled, she smiled, and they knew right away
This was the day they'd been waiting for all their lives,
And for a moment the whole world,
Revolved around one boy, and one girl
