Memorial Tribute and a surprise - 3 min 37 secs

Postby nannybear » Sat Apr 11, 2009 3:33 pm

My BFF/next door neighbor's Dad passed away suddenly this past Monday. I always seem to have time off lately when big things happen. She asked me to make a slide show for him, and she had a very limited amount of pictures strangely. The one thing I am very proud of is that on the newspaper clipping from 1957 they had mispelled his last name. They had it printed as Renta and it should be Rinta. I fixed it and I don't think you can even tell! Hugs and glad you are all still here!!!! Jan

Now that it is not a surprise anymore, just want everyone to know that Sandy Jasper is the incredible piano player on this tune and an amazing person and musician. Her website is:

You really need to check it out......

It is now in the member files, if you download it, drop me a line to let me know how it worked for you....hugs Jan

You had so few pictures to work with, and yet you managed to time them and to make use of what you did have so that the lack of more pictures wasn't noticeable at all.!

And hurray for our resident musician! You wrote a wonderful song, both melody and words. Bravo and encore!!! (Encore means I want you to write lots more songs. :D )

Hi Jan,
I have to echo Merlin. That was beautiful. What a tribute to a friend's Dad. I am sure she will always treasure your show.

Thanks so much! I don't know where the song came from but one day it was just in my head and I had to record it. We have such a time finding royalty free music that I wanted to give something back to the forum as well. So it is available to all forum members - royalty free - just don't sell it as is. Anyone can PM if they want it, until I get my butt in gear and upload to the member files. Again, thanks for watching, Happy Easter and hugs to all!!!! Jan

Blushing now, but very happy that you guys like the song. As in all art, it comes from the heart. I am very blessed that I have incredible people to help me do these things. Off to relax now and do a Harry Potter marathon, before I have to go back to the corporate (sp) day job! hugs Jan

Wow Jan, I just had to turn up the volume on that one, you are one talented person.

Your show content matched your singing talents, and 'No' I could not spot that the 'i' had been changed.

Excellent Jan !! (you stole the "i" from "Ladysmith" ). Very well done with a limited number of pictures (and a great sound track too !!). I have the technical skill to do things like that, but I just wish I had some artistic talent to go with it like you do (when we play pictionary, the difference between my drawing in a chicken and a cow is the number of legs  ). Definitely one of those you can stand up and proudly say "Yep, I did the whole show !! "
