How to make a template from my PSG show?

Thu Nov 18, 2010 9:32 am

Hello,

I have put together a wedding slideshow that I would like to save the layout and just change the images for the next one I create. Is there a way to save just the layout so when I open a new folder of images I can just drop the new images into the positions that already have the effects and transistions from the previous show?

Thanks

Rich

The feature that you are looking for, is available only in Producer.
ProShow Gold does not have templates.

Sorry to disappoint you :(

Hi Rich,

You actually already have the ability to do this...it's just not as obvious as you might think

Save your show as "showname_Template". No, it won't really be a template, it will be a show. BUT....the next time you open it, you can simply drag and drop your new photos onto your existing photos in your layer list, keeping all of your motion and effects in tact :D

Here's a tutorial for Dragging an Image into the Layer List (done it Producer, but the feature also works in Gold).

Hope that helps!

Jennifer

Sorry for the confusion.

I understood that Rich was looking for an automatic function, like the one that we have in Producer:
Load the template, select all the pictures in a directory, and then:

Show > Show Template > Add Selected Files to Template (or Place Holders).

This places all the selected pictures in all the slides, with just one click.
That's a really cool feature ! :D

Jennifer,

Thanks for the info but I was looking for a way to eliminate the drop and drag. I was hoping I could just organize my slides in the order I wanted, hit load and have them all drop into the blank template. Guess I'll just have to stay with the drop and drag.
