Postby Scooter » Thu Aug 16, 2007 2:09 am

Has anyone else had trouble accessing the Photodex webiste? I have not been able to get to it for 2 days now.

Problems last night

It took four tries before I could download the new version of Producer. Gave me a garbage file first three times.

I tried to look at some members' shows, but it just hung up on most of them. When I did get a show, the ST was out of sync or skipped all over.

If I am not sure of a transfer I will often download (broadband, not dial-up !!)
the file twice to two different names then run a simple file compare utility
on them -- if they match, then you probably got a correct download - if not,
do it a third time and see which two match (hopefully at least two will!).
It would be nice if Photodex provided a MD5 or SHA sum for their files which
makes it easy to verify file integrity on a download, but comparing two
downloads works pretty well.

For the cases where the show is jumping or the sound track is jumping etc,
let it download completely (or even save a copy to your local disk first) then
play it and it should be OK (or at least the way the person put it together :D )

You can't have too many gadgets or too much disk space !!

Lots of PIC and Arduino microprocessor stuff too !!

Thanks folks! I meant to re-post that I think the problem was on my end.
