Thanks,

Drop shadow problem in presenter resolved

Postby hardsoftware » Thu Aug 02, 2007 6:51 pm

I guess the farce is with me. I just went ahead and uninstalled 1966 along with presenter and installed 1967. The shows are now back to normal so photodex did at least resolve the drop shadow problem. It was kind of unerving to see a little elipse of a photo and a giant original size dropshadow behind the photo. They must have found a problem with presenter because they sure fixed it quick after showing them one of my shows with the problem. By the way I did not discover the problem. I actually saw reference to it in the Yahoo forum for Proshow and decided to see for myself if this was the case.

One more thing, I've not made any shows in this new version so I cannot say whether there are any bugs in it or not. As we all know, there most likely is. :P

I think I'll sleep through these upgrades. My license expires in September and I'll upgrade shortly before then.

Hmmm - we hadn't seen any new beta versions for a while and
now they're back ... I wonder if they rehired their programmer
they surplused a while back to save money (increases the bonus'
for the upper managment you understand). Poor guy probably
has 3 managers standing over him to "help" productivity :D

I let it install 1967 of presenter, but I'm still back a ways on
Producer (have a number of short videos to finish for members
of the swim team - "better the devil you know than the one you
don't"

I haven't upgraded to either build yet but has anybody had a chance to try out this new template feature? I'm curious to know because adding templates has always been pretty cumbersome.

Hey Mikey - looks more like they fired the tester to pay for rehiring the programmer!!

Anybody would think Producer was written by Microsoft looking at the list of fixes in 1966 and then to add insult to injury releasing 1967 the very next day!

I'm betting on 1968 by the end of Monday :D

Yeah, it's one thing to introduce new bugs (I know how difficult/expensive
it is to test software -- try "flight critical" to DO=178B), however, they have
a list of existing problems why do they show up again -- they should at
least test for those !! :?

1968 was a very good year -- I graduated from High School that year ! :)

Gee, Mikey, now you're showing your age. Oh well, I'm only one year behind you, 1969 :(

Is there a Beta floating around or are we talking about 1966/7? Has there been any talk about a "dot" upgrade or a full version upgrade? Wonder what they're gonna do about pricing then.

They will probably show the same advertising IQ they did with
the initial release and see how many more jump instead of waiting
to see what comes along that is better. (I ain't gonna bite on the
"hurry hurry, save $100 now ... " nonsense - that cost me close
to $300 (I had owned gold for more than 2 years)).
