Maybe some donations for cash at the local bloood and sperm banks...

It may eventually come to that Dave  Oh, and Thanks for the offer Dave, something to think about.

And yes, Netflix is gone, as is cable tv and a lot of other piddly stuff that are not necessary during this time. I do have a severence package coming but having gone through this before I know they don't last very long. I got laid off from DEC back in 94 after 18 years of service and the severence package I got from them helped me through 2 years of working for 6 to 8 bucks an hour until I got on at Intel 10 years ago and now its happened again and I am just being cautious, perhaps more so than I should be.

Ain't this forum just great :D

We all get knocked down at some point. It's how fast we get back up that's important. I lost my IT job after 12 years with a large insurance company here in Kansas. It took me 18 months to finally find a job. Unfortunately, it pays about 1/2 of what I was making, so supplement it with a part-time job of 20 hrs per week. It's a long week, but not a lot of opportunities here, especially for a programmer in his mid 50's.

I'll pray that opportunities will present themselves to you.

Photodex put out a 2nd build 2 days after 1966. 1967 corrects the problem with drop shadows on photos with a vinnette .

You should have seen it when they first released it back in December -
we were literally getting multiple builds a day sometimes (I did feel sorry
for their programmer -- poor guy working his fingers to the bone with
all those managers saying "faster faster" )

I did see it. I upgraded to PSP when 3.0 came out. I'd wished I hadn't at the time. Their support said they couldn't recreate half the problems I'd encountered which had me po'd. Then, just started rolling out the builds...one every week. It was ridiculous. I still have every build on my network going all the way back to 1912.

Wow !! I didn't realize they made a drive big enough for
all the versions they threw at us at first :D
Seemed to me there were a couple of times there where we
had a new build in the morning and by the afternoon, there
was another build out there !!

I've got every one from build 3.1887! Of course none of these are actually installed except the one I feel works best for me but I still download the latest build and keep it around just in case.

Ben is such a cute rascal -- maybe we could adopt him ?? :D

I wish I knew of something up here, but they are busy optimizing
the bonus's of all the CEO's which means getting rid of everybody
to maximize the short term proffits. Of course, 5 or 10 years from
now when they want people with experience to oversee their
"outsourced projects", there will be nobody left but the CEO's
will have escaped by then with their megabucks and it "certainly
wasn't their fault since all the problems happened AFTER they
left" :(

Hey Ben,
Really sorry to hear about your mis-fortune.

I'm a Network Admin and have been pretty lucky.

Very volatile times. Hang in there, Ben. I hope this quickly turns around for you.
