Anyone familiar with "Nero"

Any suggestions for another program?
I have been using Media Player, but want

Nothing compares to Nero as an allround burn engine, audio and video application. When it works it is reliable and steady but one must know that Nero 7 is quite a package. Not really for the novice.

While Nero is a good all around burning thing (I still have version 5), I
actually prefer the free "imgburn" for burning DVD's etc from ISO files.
It seems cleaner and will verify the burn when done (Nero 5 - not sure
about the later versions) does NOT have a verify option on the burning
menu when burning from an ISO - it does have that option for data DVD's
etc though.

Hey Mikey, A question about Imgburn... I've been saving shows as an ISO file, I've had no trouble burning in Producer. How can I put a couple ISO files onto one DVD? Haven't seen that option in Imgburn, will it do it? Thanks, Don

Well, Don, the typical engineer's answer is "yes and no". An ISO is an image
of the disk (well, the used parts anyway). You can't burn two ISO images
to the same disk and expect them to work, HOWEVER, if you want to save
ISO files (for say a number of small shows), you can burn them to a DATA
dvd just as files which you can later use to burn another DVD from if you
want. The thing to keep in mind is an ISO is an image of the disk so without
using something like ultraiso etc, there is no way to "combine" two or more
images like you could do with something like an avi file or audio file.
Does that make sense that way??

Hi,

FYI - Nero DOES HAVE a verify option on the ISO burning page in both Versions 6 and 7.
It is located at the bottom of the page. My memory may be faulty but I thought the verify
function also existed in Version 5.

Nope -- just went and checked in case my old memory was faulty.
No verify box anywhere in the Nero write dialog box (latest version of 5)
for burning an image. It is there for a data disk, but not an ISO burn.
You had me worried for a minute !

Out of curiosity I checked my NERO version 7 for this. I opened NERO and told it to burn image to disk, and after selecting the ISO file, and burner in the window that opens, there is a box and next to it is verify data on disk after burning.

Nero Burning Rom 7.9.6 is the hottest thing since firecrackers. It does everything I ask it to do, and more. It is not cheap - but you get what you pay for - and it is Vista compatable. ~al

Well, I just loaded Nero 6 yesterday. Haven't used it much, but so
far I like it. It is very user friendly. And with tackling Producer 3, I don't need
another program to learn right now......
