Create Custom Video File

Sat Nov 19, 2016 3:23 am

Good Morning to you all.

I have just installed proshow 7 on my new pc windows 10.
Made a 15 slide show with music, created the custom vid, everything
fine. Except when I go to play it the music is there but no show.
I make these vids on my old pc windows 7 and they were brilliant.

Can anyone help.

Thanks

Chris

What format did you use for the video? I normally create mp4 720p and have had no issues (my TV plays it right off a thumb drive with no issues at all). What are you trying to play your show with? One handy utility (FREE) out there is called mediainfo - it will look at a file and tell you what codec etc. were used for the audio and video portions of the file. That can help troubleshoot just what is going on.

Hi Mickey

I now have a different problem, the photos will play on the video but the sound
just makes a large click.

I looked at the encoding for the sound and it is set at MPEG2 in the format
settings it will not let me change anything in the format settings.
I also also tried using the video setting for the WEB but still not music. !!

What is mediainfo reporting for the file? You didn't answer my other questions either.

Hi

Sorry I use PAL as I am in England I downloaded mediainfo but
I am not really sure what I am looking at. Mine is MPEG2 720
I have used these setting since I have had proshow, mainly because
that is how proshow came to me. I am not confident enough to mess
around. I have sent a message to Photodex but not heard back yet
Do you think it could be something to do with windows 10.
My old machine, which I still have is windows 7. !! Also prior to the new pc I could play files on my smart
tv and a thumb drive as you said.

Thank You

Hi Mickey,

Spent all day trying to work this out. MICROSOFT problem I had to download
some codec to make sure the programme run properly.

Long time since I have had to do that, but hey it worked.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

I had asked about what you were trying to play it with because of issues I have heard of playing video files. I was going to suggest (still do actually) downloading the free VLC media player. It seems to handle most things you throw at it. I have it set as the default mp4 player on my win7/64 machine.

ps - it is mikey, not Mickey - Mickey is the big mouse :D
